Love this, Kay. Glad you were bold and went for it. And even more so that you'd do it again. It's so much better than a life of regrets.

Thank you, Vince. Yeah, I think that idea of looking back with those sort of regrets makes me feel more unsettled than just going "fuck it, what's the worst that could happen?"

Ooooooh nice! I tried “saxing” but I think that’s something else.

I love this story. It was pleasure to read it again. It is so cinematic! It could actually be a novel in itself. Looking back now, I know you are glad you did it and had that experience, which sounds amazing and so different to life in the UK. I think bravey and boldness are two things that define you very well (amongst many other things!).

It was such a fun time. Glad you enjoyed the re-read! It’s brought back such happy memories. Including the time a guy recognised me on a flight to Cannes by my laugh!!!

A life well lived is full of taking chances, boldly following your heart. Mistakes or failures are priceless contributions to one's acquired wisdom.

It is better to have loved and lost....

Loved this. Could it be a rom com (from another era?)

It probably could - set in the 90s, Meg Ryan as me since I got told I looked like her all the time back then!

Yes was also thinking in style of You’ve Got Mail etc. So funny thinking about fax machines now!

Isn’t it? I kept those fax scrolls and put a coffee cup on top of one and lost all the words!

Must have been interesting working at Ministry of Sound at that time, Kay, Chicago adventures aside! But what a leap into the unknown, moving to the US for love. As you say, it's sometimes only by taking those leaps that you can find out whether they're the right ones. Really enjoyed this.

Thank you, Wendy. That whole period was incredible. I had such fun times, met amazing people and traveled loads. And, yes, I’ve always thought I’d hate to end up thinking “what if I’d…”
